U.S. TO BAN IMPORTS FROM XINJIANG REGION OF CHINA FOR HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS

Bipartisan support for bill to ban imports from Xinjiang area signed into law by President Biden 12-23-21. The law in response to human rights violations in Uyghur and Turkic Muslim regions. Biden signed the bill into law without much pomp, and in private, a possible indication of growing tension between U.S. and China. Earlier in December, the Biden administration announcing a diplomatic boycott of Beijing's Winter Olympics, targeting the same types of human rights, Islamic targeting in China. U.S. lawmakers also taking a stand with Anti-Islamophobia Act passed also in December by Congress, in part as a response to Colorado Rep.
